dear anna from the post office in nyc,

today i was in the post office in san francisco and it made me think of you. you were so super nice and totally my hero the fall of 2004 when i lived in new york city, i was being sexually harrassed by an employee who worked at the same post office as you. you noticed this and one day when i came to the post office ( i had to go several times a week as part of my job) you said to me that any time i came to the post office i should always wait for your window to come available and you'd take care of me so that i wouldn't accidentally end up having to deal with the creepy sexual harrasser. it was one of the kindest, coolest, and downright sisterhood-is-powerful things any stranger has ever done for me. so thank you anna, truly, with all my big heart. i hope that wherever you are you are well and happy and being treated with the same kindness that you showed me. right on sister.
